Ways to Deal with Birth Fear
Many expectant mothers feel fear, anxiety, or uncertainty as birth approaches. In this article, I help you understand the causes of birth fear and share ways to transform these fears in a healthy manner.
As a certified Birth & Postpartum Doula, I am here to support mothers during their birth and postpartum processes.
I am Rojda Güray, the founder of Doula Rojda, a mother and certified Birth & Postpartum Doula & Night Nanny, here to support mothers in having a safe, conscious, and loving journey during their birth and postpartum processes.
I actually started this journey at a very young age. When I was just 12 years old, I took care of my little sister, taking the first steps in postpartum support. At 21, I witnessed my cousin's birth in Germany at midnight, which began my role as a birth supporter. These experiences led me to become a Certified Doula in Toronto, Canada in 1992.
In Toronto, in addition to my Birth & Postpartum Doula certifications from Doula School International, I also have expertise in breastfeeding support, sleep support, and overnight baby care.
Today, I have the opportunity to touch the lives of mothers and families in Canada by collaborating with Toronto's most respected agencies. Additionally, I provide specialized support to mothers from Turkey, Iraq, Dubai, Hungary, and many other countries during their prenatal and postpartum periods.
For me, every mother and every family has a unique story. I consider it an honor to be by their side during this most special journey with knowledge, love, and trust.
"I am very excited to get to know your family and take a strong journey together. Getting to know you and your family, being by your side on this special journey is a great source of happiness for me."
- Rojda Güray
Doula support is professional guidance that provides physical, emotional, and information-focused support for the mother and her family during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum processes.
I am here to support you physically and emotionally throughout your pregnancy journey. In our meetings, I answer your questions about birth, help create your birth plan together, and support you with techniques like breathing, relaxation, and body awareness. My goal is to help you experience this process more consciously, safely, and peacefully.
From the moment labor begins, I provide continuous physical, emotional, and cognitive support in your environment (at home, hospital, or birth center). I am there with massage, position suggestions, breathing exercises, and simply being present. I am there to help you feel safe, supported, and strong.
The postpartum period is one of the most sensitive and transformative times both physically and emotionally. During this process, the mother's recovery, adapting to the baby, and the entire family's adjustment to the new routine can take time.
Even if we can't meet physically, my support reaches out to you. Through online consultation meetings via Zoom or phone, I provide one-on-one guidance on topics like pregnancy, birth preparation, postpartum care, and breastfeeding. It's also an ideal option for mothers outside of Canada.
Sleepless nights in the newborn period can affect both your baby's and your recovery process. Night Doula Support is designed to help your family feel more balanced, peaceful, and rested, especially in the first weeks after birth.
The arrival of a new baby can be both exciting and confusing for other children at home. Sibling Doula is a specially offered service to ensure that older sibling(s) feel safe, calm, and supported during the birth process.
I am here for your questions, concerns, or difficulties related to breastfeeding in the postpartum period. I guide you to show your baby's correct feeding positions, provide suggestions to increase milk flow, and support your self-confidence.
The needs of a newborn baby can sometimes seem complex. I share practical information on daily care topics from how to hold your baby to diaper changing, burping, and bathing routines. I provide support that makes you feel relaxed, calm, and in control.
In the first days of motherhood, your body needs to heal and your mood needs support. I help you establish your sleep routine and balanced nutrition, while also being a supporter who listens to you and gives you strength during emotional ups and downs. Remember, a good mother first takes good care of herself.
Sleepless nights can make the mother's recovery process difficult. I meet your baby's needs throughout the night, allowing you to rest. This way, both you and your baby can start the day more peacefully and balanced. It makes a big difference especially in the first weeks after birth. My goal is to help you go through this period without feeling alone and inadequate, but with love, confidence, and support. I support you in the first steps of motherhood.
